Blog Post #3: What's Current Creates Currency


1) MTV music videos doesn't display many values at all, anything goes in music videos and I think that is why it is so appealing to teens.

3) No, it doesn't dictate what we believe of reflect our beliefs and culture values. Everyone is initialed to their own opinion, the type of music that we listen to doesn't always have an influence over what we think.

4) Music become popular by multiple people listening to it. Pop art can be real art, you can almost consider anything as art. Anything that a person creates is their art.

5) Music is used in certain types of media to appeal to certain types of audiences. On channels like Nick and Cartoon Network the media is mostly directed towards the youth to try to get them hooked on their product. They use music that the general population of the group that they are targeting will like.

6) Music influences peoples ideologies with the lyrics that the artist choice to use in their songs. If an artist is talking about being peaceful and love the people that listen to it are more likely to act more peaceful. If that person listens to a pump up song with lyrics that are a little more harsh that person is more likely to be in a more aggressive mood.
